The other night I went out to dinner at Green Chile Kitchen right off the 5 bus stop on McAllister Street. Green Chile is a series of eateries, the Kitchen being the place where you can eat various New Mexico inspired entrées & Green Chile Pies being the place to snack on unique pastries and desserts! The restaurant is a hip place filled with retro artwork and rich wood-paneled walls. The staff is very friendly and the food is fantastic! Here I ordered the super nachos, which consist of: homemade tortilla chips, green chile, black beans, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, pico de gallo and my choice of meat…steak! These nachos were like none I have ever had before, it was more rustic as opposed to the “sports arena” nachos I’m so used to. I really really enjoyed this, especially the marinated steak. I am definitely coming back to Green Chile Kitchen!

Some heavenly nachos to fuel my body for a nice sunny beach day in Santa Monica.

Some heavenly nachos to fuel my body for a nice sunny beach day in Santa Monica.

So a little over a week ago, I went with my school to Dallas, Texas for a Student Television Competition where hundreds of schools competed in broadcasting and film. I learned a lot and watched a lot of talented videos. Dallas was a very nice place and it’s scary hearing about all the tornado warnings in the Fort Worth area! I hope everyone is safe down there!

I couldn’t go to Dallas and not have any BBQ! I ordered a pulled pork sandwich with mac n’ cheese and cole slaw on the side at Sonny Bryan’s Smokehouse in downtown Dallas. They didn’t go light on the meat (which I love) and the the sides were amazing!

While I was there I even had alligator nachos! That’s right REAL alligator! If I had to compare it to something it tasted like…chewy chicken. I can’t say I really enjoyed, but it wasn’t disgusting either.

Cow bus!

The Staple Center has some great nachos…but you know what’s better? Chauncey’s THREE point shot in the last 4.2 seconds of the game with one second to spare! WOOOOOHOOO
