There was this fabulous french bakery right by our hostel in Pike’s Place Market called Le Panier. It was filled to the brim with freshly baked bread and an enormous selection of pastries. I of course took advantage of all they had to offer. First, I had a selection of their delicate macarons and a nice hot chocolate. It was a great snack to energize me for the rest of the day, especially the hot chocolate which was rich and frothy.

I would definitely have to say that their croissants were hands down the best. They had quite a selection, including both chocolate and almond croissants. I found myself in a huge dilemma because I was craving both the chocolate and almond croissant. So what is better than having a croissant that can offer both?? That’s right, I indulged in a chocolate/almond croissant. It had the sweetness from the almond and the richness of the chocolate all wrapped up into the flaky pastry. Heaven!

I wish Starbucks would bring their almond croissants back.

Last night, a friend of ours cooked us some dinner! Mmmm…which was a real treat, & pretty much everything was homemade, which was super exciting.

Homemade buttery, doughy croissants w/ homemade sweet raspberry jam! The jam was this pretty, vibrant pink that tasted even better than it looked.

A yummy salad along with walnuts, dried cranberries and bleu cheese, and some delicious dressing.

For the main course: homemade chicken noodle soup! I even think the noodles were homemade! It was a really simple soup which I really liked, pure comfort food…my fave.
