Disneyland California Adventure had some new installments over the summer!

…no, I am not talking about Carsland (which btw is amazing)!! I’m talking about the fancy Starbucks and the much admired Ghirardelli Square! So next time you’re in the vicinity, you must check it out! Order your favorite ‘venti-iced-whatnot’ and then when you just cannot stand the heat, head over to Ghirardelli square for a decadent ice cream sundae! You won’t regret it!!

I had some delicious macarons last week from Paulette’s in Beverly Hills. Macarons are light almond cookies with a sweet ganache filling. From left to right there is the classic Madagascar vanilla, the sweet wedding almond, the Sicilian pistachio, the Colombian Coffee, the Caribbean chocolate and the Coconut macaron. Each one is so light and airy and infused with the best ingredients. I just love macarons because they are just mini bites of vibrant flavors. My favorite one would have to be the sweet wedding almond macaron. There is something about the unique almond flavor that I just absolutely love. Thanks for the yummy macarons Robyn and Arlene!

My Auntie Shonny and Uncle John, I’d say have to be the best cooks ever, and I’m not just saying this because they’re family, there house is stocked with cookbooks, and overfilling with pots and pans and the coolest kitchen appliances. If you dont believe me just look at the pics:

mmmmm, a nice big plate of juicy meat, even the white meat was juicy, served with a variety of potatoes, onions and croutons to soak up all the juices

two words: CHEESE HEAVEN

the chicken dish had purple potatoes in it, purple peruvian potatoes to be exact

and for dessert, creamy coffee ice cream wedged between the most delectable chocolate chip cookies, there was pie for dessert too (but that deserves it’s own post)

sugar anyone?
