With all this college/future-life-planning taking up most of my time, I haven’t really blogged in depth for a while now. So here it is: my Benihana trip for my best friend’s 17th birthday in….October. I know that was like a month ago, but guys, that one month of non-blogging time didn’t make the food taste any less delicious! Anyhow…

I’m sure many of you have heard of Benihana, it is a very popular dining experience with various locations around the United States and even in South America. I think due to the festive spirit and the excitement with all the food “entertainment”, it’s no wonder why this place is such a success. It is quite exhilarating when you get to watch your food being cooked right before your eyes (in reality you can literally do this everynight while your parents cook for you, all for the price of…being born). But I do suppose our parents don’t have the skills of the Benihana teppan masters as they twirl their knives and make onion ring volcanoes on a hot stove top. All in all, it was quite an experience that I surely wont forget. As for the food…it was plentiful and delicious.

So with every meal, it’s always nice to have simple starters to excite your taste buds. And here we have some onion soup with  mushrooms and then a simple salad to munch on while we watch the chef prepare our food.

Look at that concentration…

After the starters, the real stuff starts to begin and the chef uses his special cooking tools to create a magical food experience. The fried rice was fresh off the grill and sure tasted amazing with all the vegetables and seasoning.

Along with the rice, everyone gets some grilled vegetables to go with their main course. Grilled zucchini is always a favorite of mine so I was very pleased. The shrimp was also perfectly grilled and not to chewy.

&&& here is the main course!! I ordered filet mignon and scallops! The steak was perfectly cooked to medium rare and biting into it was like butter! && the scallops were perfectly grilled and also melted in my mouth. Overall, this was an amazing dinner and I hope to go back to Benihana very soon!
